Spirit Airlines Flight Attendants Hospitalized due to Exposure to Toxic Fumes in Aircraft

Three Spirit Airlines flight attendants have been taken to hospital after being exposed to fumes while conducting pre-flight checks.

The New Jersey State Police confirmed that troopers were dispatched to Atlantic City International Airport (ACY) on 17th December 2023 after the crew members were exposed to fumes at around 5:45 am local time.

The Spirit Airlines flight attendants were then taken to a nearby hospital for medical evaluation by doctors. According to news website NJ.com, Jeffrey Lebron, a detective and police spokesman, confirmed details of the incident later in the day.

" No passengers had boarded the Spirit Airline yet when the fume incident happened. The status of the three flight attendants is unknown," Lebron said.

The New Jersey State Police have not confirmed what type of fumes the crew was exposed to, but have said that the injuries they suffered were not life-threatening.

Local authorities are apparently investigating the cause of the flight attendants' hospitalization.
